Poori Recipe on Holi 2020 – A Crispy Companion to Every Other Dish

Poori is a recipe that always adds a crispy flavor to every other dish on Holi. If we say that the menu is incomplete without poori, it would not be wrong. So try to make it at home this Holi 2020 with this amazing recipe we are going to tell you here.

Poori is a crispy alternative to the chapati that everyone loves to have with chole, dal, halwa, and almost anything you can imagine. You might feel that it is hectic to make this technical snack at home. But not any more if you follow all the instructions of this recipe.

Ingredients of Poori:

You will need the following ingredients to make the perfect pooris.

Item Quantity
Whole wheat flour 2 cups
Salt To taste
Vegetable oil 2 tablespoons

Making of Poori on Holi:

Add salt into the floor and start kneading by adding water in a small amount. Keep on adding water until you need no more of it. Knead it well to make a smooth and medium soft dough. When you get the required consistency of dough, add oil to it and continue kneading until it gets silky.

Now cover the dough with a damp cloth and place it into the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. After that, divide the dough into golf-sized balls and roll each one until there is no crack in it.

When it is time to fry the Poori, roll the golf ball of dough to 5-inch diameter. Preheat oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat. Deep fry all, one at a time. Press them gently so that they can puff up. Fry until the Poori turns golden brown from both sides. After that, place it on white paper so that excess oil drains out.

Serve hot and fresh. So that it tastes amazing with anything you serve.

Kulcha on Holi 2020 – Amritsari Kulcha Recipe that Everyone Loves

Food is the necessary color of Holi that everyone must add to the festival. Kulcha is a recipe from Amritsar that everyone in India loves to eat on Holi. Let’s learn how to make it at home.

Kulcha on Holi

Kulcha is a sort of roti with yummy filling inside. You can also add as many varieties in the Kulcha as you like. Let’s learn to make the most famous one here.

Ingredients of Kulcha:

The following are the ingredients you will need to make Kulchas.

Item Quantity
All-purpose flour 1 cup
Virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon
Salt As required
Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
Sugar 1/2 teaspoon
Yogurt 2 tablespoon
Baking soda 1/4 teaspoon
Refined oil 2 teaspoon
Lukewarm milk 2 tablespoon
Boiled potato 1
Onion 1/2
Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander leaves 1/2 teaspoon
Green chili 1/2
Red chili powder 1/4 teaspoon
Chat masala 1 pinch

Preparing the dough:

Take a large and deep bowl and sieve the flour into it. Now add baking soda, baking powder, curd, sugar, salt, and refined oil. Mix everything well with fingers. After that, add lukewarm milk in it and knead to form a firm dough. Now cover it with a wet cloth and set aside.

Preparing the filling.

For the filling, mash boiled potatoes into a bowl. Put chopped onion and green chilies into it. Now add chat masala, red chili powder, coriander leaves, and cumin powder. Add a pinch of salt and mix it well with a spoon.

Making of Kulcha on Holi:

Divide the dough into small portions and roll each one into a small ball. After that, roll the ball in round shape. Put the filling in the center of the chapati and roll the dough over it so that all the ends are finely sealed. Now roll it again in the form of paratha.

Put some olive oil on the pan and preheat it. After the temperature rises and oil starts bubbling, put the Kulcha onto it. Cook for about a minute and flip. Cook the other side too and keep on flipping until both sides turn crispy and golden brown. Serve with chole and chatni.

Besan Papdi on Holi 2020 – Crispy Snack Recipe for Everyone

Holi demands something crispy, and Besan Papdi can prove to be the best recipe. So here we have written the easy recipe that you can make at home. So read it out.

Besan is always nutritious to eat. And when it is Holi, everyone wants it to be in the form of Papdi. You might assume it is difficult to make. But not anymore with the recipe below.

Ingredients of Besan Papdi:

To make Besan Papdi, see the ingredients chart below:

Item Quantity
Gram flour 200 grams
Urad dal flour 50 grams
Refined flour 50 grams
Asafoetida 2-3 pinches
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Salt To taste
Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder 1/4 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Oil 4 tablespoons + for frying

Making of Besan Papdi on Holi:

Strain urad dal flour and gram flour into a sieve. Now add asafoetida, cumin seeds, salt, baking soda, red chili powder,  and black pepper into it. Add oil to knead the dough. When the dough gets the fine texture, cover it, and set aside for almost an hour.

After an hour, grease your hands and knead the dough again. Divide it into small parts and roll it to one-inch thickness. Now use a knife to cut down the dough to 1/2 inch. Now take each piece and roll it in diameter of 2 to 3 inches. Put some dry flour onto it and roll it again until it reaches the diameter of 4 to 5 inches.

Now put all of them one over each other over a plate. Now heat oil in a pan. After that, put one Papdi into it. Keep on tossing it until it turns golden brown. After frying, put Papdis on white paper so that excess oil drains out. Now store them in a dry airtight jar. You can now serve it anytime.

Channa Chaat on Holi 2020 – Chickpeas Chaat Recipe

Chickpeas 1 cup
Green capsicum 1 chopped
Green chili 1 chopped
Lemon juice 3 teaspoons
Black pepper 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 pinch
Tomato 1 chopped
Onion 1 chopped
Chaat masala powder 1 teaspoon
Grated carrot 2 teaspoons
Chopped coriander leaves 1 handful

Making Channa Chaat on Holi:

Add a pinch of salt to chickpeas. Put them in a deep saucepan filled with water. Now cook them in pressure until they are properly cooked. Drain the access water by putting chickpeas into a strainer.

Chop capsicum, tomato, onion, and green chilies. Mix them all together into a bowl and set aside. You can also set each one aside separately.

When it is time to serve, add carrot and other chopped vegetables to the chickpeas. Add lemon juice, chaat masala powder, and black pepper to the mixture and mix everything well. So the Channa Chaat is now ready to serve.

Pakora on Holi 2020 – Snack Recipe that Everyone Loves to Eat

Pakora is an exciting snack as you can make it from any ingredient of your choice. The range can vary from onion to potato, and much more. So here we will tell you about the recipe of Pakora, in general, to make your Holi amazing.

Ingredients for Pakora:

Green chili 1 (chopped)
Ginger Thumb size piece
Tomato 1
Gram flour 200 grams
Chili powder 1.5 teaspoons
Garam masala 1.5 teaspoons
Coriander 1-5 teaspoons
Potato 2 medium
Aubergine 1/2
Cauliflower 1/2
Onion 1 large
Lemon 1/2
Vegetable oil For frying

Making of Pakora on Holi:

Make the paste of pakora by adding chili, tomato, and ginger together. And set it aside. Then mix flour with powdered spices and add that powdered mixture to the mixed vegetables. Mox them all together so that everything combines well. Now slowly add water to it until it becomes a fine batter. After that, add a little lemon juice to it.

Frying Pakoras:

Preheat oil in a deep saucepan up to 180-degree Celcius. Take a spoon or use your hands to put the mixture into the oil in the form of small balls. Add as much as they fit in without sticking to each other. Fry for about 5 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy as well. After frying, put them on a strainer or white paper so that excess oil drains away. Serve with Chatni.
