|Basmati rice||1 cup|
|Vegetable oil||2 tablespoons|
|Onion (chopped)||1 large|
|Cumin seeds||2 teaspoons|
|Coriander leaves||To garnish|
Making of Jeera Rice on Holi:
Wash rice well then boil in 3 cups of water along with salt. When you feel the rice is almost cooked, drain the water by pouring them on a sieve. Then set the rice aside for cooling.
Take another pan and heat oil in it. Now add onion and fry till they get light brown. After that, add cumin seeds and cook until they splutter and sizzle. You can now add rice to it. Stir it well so that everything mixes well.
Now add a half cup of water to the rice and cover the pan with lid. Cook until the water dries. Take out the rice in the serving dish and garnish with coriander leaves.
