Smoke Bomb Recipe for Holi 2020

Holi is full of colors. People use dry colors and colored mix water for the celebration for many years. With the advancement in technology, many new ways of enjoyment are also evolving. One of them is the Holi smoke bomb. Let’s know what it is and how we can make it at home.

Holi smoke bomb in 2020:

It is a small cylinder or a tube that is filled with a smoke mixture. So when it is activated, the whole mix evaporates out of it like smoke. This smoke goes upward into the air and disappears after a while. In Holi, it makes the entire atmosphere colorful. People use smoke bombs of different colors at a time that presents a beautiful sight. Smoke bombs are available in different sizes and colors in the market.

Homemade Holi smoke bomb:

If you don’t want to buy a smoke bomb and try to make it at home. It is a pretty simple process. You need the following ingredients to make a Holi smoke bomb.

ItemsQuantity
Potassium nitrate3 tablespoons or 60 grams
Sugar2 tablespoons or 40 grams
Baking soda1 teaspoon
Organic powdered dye3 tablespoons or 60 grams
Cardboard tubeOne
Duct tapeAs required
Pen or pencilAs required
Firework fuseAs required
Cotton ballsAs required
SaucepanOne

Making the Holi smoke bomb:

First, you have to mix potassium nitrate and sugar on a saucepan over low heat. Continuously stir the mixture until it is the same as smooth peanut butter. When it is like that, remove it from the stove. Now add baking soda into the mixture and stir it. After baking soda is mixed properly, add organic powdered dye. Stir the mixture so that it mixes well.

After this is done, fill the cardboard tube with the mixture while it is still warm. Now put a pencil or a pen into the cylinder and push it inwards till the center of the mix. Leave it as it is till the mixture gets hard. It can take about an hour. After that, remove the pen or pencil, whatever it is.

Now insert the firework fuse inside the hole. Push pieces of cotton balls in the hole so that the fuse properly tamps into the smoke bomb. While you do so, make sure that there is enough part of the fuse is outside the tube. So that you can light it up. The last step of the manufacturing process is to wrap the duct tape all over the smoke bomb. Make sure it is wrapped well from all sides, but the hole with cotton and fuse are not covered.

Now your homemade smoke bomb is ready to make your Holi colorful.

Tips:

  • The cardboard tube can be a toilet paper roll. Or you can also use a paper towel tube.
  • Take care of the quantity and follow the above ingredient table so that the smoke bomb functions properly.
  • Blue and orange powdered dye work perfectly, but you can also choose other colors.

Using smoke bombs on Holi creates a lovely atmosphere. Make sure that kids are not so near. Because it’s smoke and fire. Use with care and enjoy your Holi this 2020.
