Holi Bhai Dooj ceremony:
On the day of Holi Bhai Dooj, married and unmarried, all sisters come to the home of their brother. The most important part of the celebration is the application of Tilak on the forehead of the brother by his beloved sister. Before that, the sisters perform Puja. See the process below.
Holi Bhai Dooj Puja process:
Sister brings the Holi Bhai Dooj Puja Thali for the Arti. The Thali consists of Coconut, Batashas, Mithai, Fruits, Roli, little rice, and seven paans. Sisters do a short Puja by lightening the Puja lamp. After that, she applies Tilak of brother’s forehead. Then she gives a little sweet, a piece of coconut, and other edibles on the Thali to her brother.
Custom of Gifts:
In some parts of India, it is a custom that brothers give gifts to their sisters when they come for the celebration of the brother’s home. However, in other parts of India, people simply ignore this beautiful tradition.
The festival of Bhai Dooj is to rejoin families together. That is the most fabulous concept in Indian culture. We wish all brothers and sisters a very Happy Holi Bhai Dooj 2020.
